Splurge on dad this Father’s Day

While not a local tradition, Father’s Day has become part of many Filipino families’ yearly celebrations since the 1980s.

In the U.S., the National Retail Federation (NRF) estimates spending on dads around the country to hit a record $22.9 billion, with the largest share expected to go to special outings such as dinner or brunch.

While similar market data hardly exists in the Philippines, EastWest said it expects credit card spending to rise on this occasion. “With the Filipino’s penchant for family gatherings, card spending is expected to increase, with fathers expected either on the receiving end of gifts or the one treating the family to restaurants or other bonding activities such as shopping,” said Aylwin Herminia P. Tamayo, Senior Vice President and Credit Cards Business Head of EastWest.

Father’s Day celebrations need not be fancy. To give every family a meaningful Father’s Day celebration that will not break the bank, EastWest is offering the following special promos to its credit cardholders: 50% off on your total food bill at Okada Medley Buffet for Elite cardholders, 0% installment deals in Handyman and Landers stores, Php7 off per liter on all Euro5 fuels at Unioil with your EastWest Visa credit card, Php 180 off on GrabFood, and many more. In addition, the bank is also giving a Father’s Day cash rebate on all weekends of June.

Each time we put Pampers Diapers on him, we had to be always careful for fear that the sides would rip. In fact, a good number of Pampers Diapers went to waste because they would tear easily when we put them on our child. I have to admit though that Pampers Diapers are highly absorbent and are thus really good when it comes to keeping kids dry for long.

Diapers have been an indispensable part of our home arsenal since our baby was born. When we were looking for a good diaper brand, we considered three important factors: Price Comfort and type of material Value for money: Ability to absorb and hold urine for an extended time
