May spending surges with credit card promos

In the United States, American consumers are projected to spend $33.5 billion on their moms, according to data from the National Retail Federation (NRF). The amount is the second-highest in the history of its surveys Mother’s Day spending, following last year’s record of $35.7 billion. The biggest spenders are people ages 35 to 44, with flowers as the most popular gift, purchased by 74% of consumers.

In the Philippines, Filipinos dip into their pockets on Mother’s Day more than in other occasions.

A quick scan of the Mother’s Day marketing promotions among credit card issuers would indicate that competition is feverish during this special occasion, said Aylwin Herminia P. Tamayo, Senior Vice President and Credit Cards Business Head of EastWest.

“This is why on Mother’s Day and the entire month of May, EastWest is ramping up its promo offerings as we know this occasion is very important to the Filipino culture, being a sentimental and generally matriarchal society. Our mothers deserve being pampered on this special day and the whole month of May” she said.

Using EastWest credit cards, mothers can be treated to discounts on Flowerstore.ph (20%), California Pizza Kitchen, Greyhound Café, and Botejyu (50%), Edamama (Php 600 OFF), and up to 50% on a buffet at Admiral Club Manila Bay. The Bank also offers a buy now, pay later promo, payable in 24 months, with zero interest at its participating merchant partners nationwide.

We’ve been looking for a good and affordable diaper brand that we can use as a replacement for Pampers Diapers because these won’t fit our eldest child anymore. Each time we put Pampers Diapers on him, we had to be always careful for fear that the sides would rip. In fact, a good number of Pampers Diapers went to waste because they would tear easily when we put them on our child. I have to admit though that Pampers Diapers are highly absorbent and are thus really good when it comes to keeping kids dry for long.

A comparative review of three diaper brands that we use

Diapers have been an indispensable part of our home arsenal since our baby was born. When we were looking for a good diaper brand, we considered three important factors: Price Comfort and type of material Value for money: Ability to absorb and hold urine for an extended time
