“The MMDC educational model was created to be affordable, accessible, and flexible. While we offer a cutting-edge, outcome-based curriculum that teaches students by doing, we also emphasize the need to effectively address other important student needs such as connectivity, conducive spaces for learning, and simply, providing a place for students to be with other students,” said Derrick Latreille, Chief Learning Officer of MMDC and Co-founder of Ayala Education.

“As a digital-first college, our Learning Hubs play a central role in our model because they provide a concrete, physical, and encouraging venue for all our learners.”

    New Spaces for Next-Level Collaboration

In a survey conducted by MMDC through TheNerve to understand what students looked for in a college, 37% of respondents mentioned that they enjoyed studying at home but would prefer having the option to study face-to-face with classmates. Housed within conveniently accessible locations, MMDC Learning Hubs accommodate all types of learners. Each space is equipped with high-speed internet and movable furniture to suit every preference and purpose.

MMDC Learning Hubs are designed to maximize productivity across a wide range of learning styles. Conducive study pods and open lounges cater to solo learners, while meeting rooms can be booked by big groups to work on bigger projects and other school requirements.

    Seamless Work-Life Integration

Aside from serving as a venue for students to focus on their academic endeavors, MMDC Learning Hubs also provide safe spaces that nurture psycho-social-emotional student needs such as belonging, and self-actualization.

Additional findings from TheNerve survey showed that the prospect of joining organizations, taking part in school events, and interacting with fellow students emerged as factors that influenced their college of choice.

Within the Learning Hubs, collaboration extends beyond the pursuit of academic excellence. Here, students can socialize and even form clubs aligned with personal interests. With the support of MMDC, the Learning Hubs also serve as venues for workshops, webinars, talks, and more activities to enrich the
passions of a diverse student body.

“The Learning Hub is a space designed for the students and will be maximized by the students. It caters to their needs to be connected, both digitally and socially, said Rita De Jesus, Associate Director for Integrated Advising of MMDC. “We’re excited to see the space be filled with their study groups, PPC meet-ups, collaboration projects, group work, club events, and even get-togethers. We’re excited to witness peers sharing the same college journey right here in the hub.”
