Saving Grace, a 1st Anniversary fundraising Gig by WM Productions

To celebrate its first anniversary, WM Productions, a non-profit organization that has been organizing fundraising events to help out chosen beneficiaries with financial needs, is putting together an event entitled “Saving Grace.”

This benefit concert is co-presented with Red Ninja Production together with media partners, Support Local Indie Scene, Bandwagon, OPM Memes, and Indie Manila.

Saving Grace will happen at Flare Bar in Metrowalk, Ortigas on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, and will feature eight OPM indie bands from Manila, such as Vicente Coleur, Coeli, With the Fellas, and Over October, to name a few.

All proceeds from Saving Grace will go to the financial needs, medical bills, and chemotherapy treatments of the beneficiary, Grace, who is battling Stage II breast cancer at a young age of 26 years.

“What a blessing how certain events turns out to be the most appreciative lesson for all of us. I hope this gig’s lesson for all of us is sharing happiness, being an inspiration and making an impact to other people’s lives.” says WM Productions Founder, An Layug.

The people behind Saving Grace

WM Productions started last May 2017 when a group of individuals organized a hike-for-a-cause event for their friend named Amber, who was battling leukemia at that time. Upon realizing that it was a good way to help out a friend, in the same month, they also had a benefit gig, Amber.

WM may also stand for “Walang Mahina,” a phrase that one of the organizers uttered when he sprained his ankle during their hike, a phrase that the group chanted as they toiled to finish the trail. That was also the same phrase that sparked the group to continue what they started out which soon became an advocacy to never give up and to be resilient. Someday, they will finish the trail of pain and worries and will reach the summit of healing and success.

WM Productions’ previous successful events were “A Benefit Gig for Amber” and “Gig para kay Tita” both held at Skinny Mikes which attracted around 200-250 people. The beneficiaries for both events were now cancer-free.

They also organized “Hike-for-a-cause for the Hope Advance Kids” of Severina, Parañaque, held at Mt. Arayat.

“The main act for this gig is not just the music, but the influence on how we can change lives for the better” shares Dexter Bulatao, WM Productions Event lead
